Favorite place: Eleuthera Bahamas- After graduating, I visited the Bahamas with friends. Snorkeling in the crystal clear waters with friends was a great time. The reefs on the Atlantic side of the island are home to thousands of different species of fish which I would try and identify.
Hobbies outside of medicine: golf, hunt, eat good food and exercise

We had so much fun getting together with our critical care team for some delicious food and lovely discussion! And special shout-out to Dr’s Christian Huber, Mitch Huber, Vito Saracino and Vashti Sharma for leading the debate

A few of our mentor groups spent the evening at Cirque Dream Holidaze where we found much more creative potential ways to fall from >6ft around the holidays besides off a ladder or a roof while seeing the gorgeous Fox theatre

each resident is placed in a mentor group with one member of each class and an attending that meet throughout the year for various wellness and educational events, and it’s even more fun when we get to bring multiple groups together at once!

Hi! I’m Dr. Chalam (really it’s Jen, but I get that y’all feel awkward calling me that). I’m the new Peds/PEM trained ED attending. Some quick facts about me:

Likes:
- Long walks to Resus
- Watching sunrises in the ambulance bay
- Curling up in a heated, rough blanket, in the glow of a computer monitor

- Ceil blue
- Misty green

- I have no sense of humor

Big shout out to all our winners (Dr. Darling, Dr. Butki, and Dr. Stayer) at this years CPC in the D!! CPC in the D is an annual event where we get together with other detroit programs and a resident from one program presents a case they’ve had with a common presentation of a rare disease or a rare presentation of a common disease with everything but the one test that cinched the diagnosis, then an attending from another program talks through their thought process and makes their best guess for what the test and diagnosis is!
